Deputy Commissioner Belagavi Nitesh Patil, who inspected the damage caused in different areas of the city due to heavy rains, Patil said that compensation of ten thousand rupees each will be given to the water-logged houses within 24 hours.
He visited Keshav Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Angol Raghunath Peth, and other places on Yallur Road and instructed the Tahsildar and the Corporation officials that there should not be any delay in the payment of compensation.
He told the authorities that if there is a possibility of the collapse of any old houses, such houses should be identified and people should be evacuated as a precautionary measure.
He visited the Annapurneswari Mangal Karyalaya at Keshav Nagar on Yallur Road and discussed with the officials about setting up a care center as a precautionary measure.
Speaking at the same time, Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil said, “Due to heavy rain, water has entered more than 10 houses in the city and 4 houses have completely collapsed. Compensation will be given to the water-logged houses within 24 hours.”
Similarly, if the house is completely collapsed, compensation will be given within 48 hours. In this regard, complete the survey quickly and compensation will be given based on the documents, he said.
Bellary Canal Problem-Meeting for Permanent Solution:
DC Nitesh Patil said that since the city is facing problems every year due to Bellary Nala, a meeting is being held under the chairmanship of the district in-charge minister to find a permanent solution.
For now, drainage work will be taken up at a cost of five crore rupees to temporarily solve the problem.
He said that a project report will be prepared after a detailed discussion in the meeting for a permanent solution to the Bellary Canal problem.

Responding to this, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Tahsildar and the Corporation officials to check the damage and take immediate steps to provide compensation as per the rules.
Intimation to Tahsildar to check documents and make remedial RTGS immediately. He was directed to provide relief within a few hours.
The omni Car parked next to the house was completely damaged and the owner of the vehicle appealed for compensation.
The Collector said that if the documents are provided, compensation will also be given.
During the visit, the District Collector, who walked barefoot in some places ignoring the garbage and gutters, appealed to the citizens that if the house is dilapidated, they should move as a precautionary measure.
After discussing this with the family members, he said the house should be immediately vacated and move to a safe place.
The amount of compensation will be credited to their bank account today. So you have to move immediately. He instructed the authorities that if there are any tenants, they should be moved as well.
He said that if there are tenants in the damaged house, they will be compensated as per the rules.

Crop Damage due to Heavy Rains-Quick Remedy:
There is no flood situation in Krishna and Malaprabha river basin at present. However, due to heavy rainfall in some places, crops have been damaged and a survey will be conducted as soon as possible and compensation will be given, said Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil.
As a precautionary measure, all necessary preparations have been made to set up a total of 388 care centers in the district.
