In the meeting held at the Cantonment office Belagavi it was decided that 8 roads can be opened for the public after the recent notification from the ministry of defense.
MP Prabhakar Kore, Suresh Angadi and MLA Anil Benake attended the meeting in which with other issues the main issue was revolving around the opening of Closed roads for general traffic.
As of now the MLIRC has agreed in principle but it is still not clear when the said road would be made open.
Staveley Road, Arsenal road in Fort, Smart road, Rajendra Sinhji Road, Choudhari Road, Laxmi Mandir Road and Albert Ekka road would be made open for general traffic.
The ministry of defense on May 28 issued an order categorically saying that, All barriers, checks posts and road blocks will be removed, vehicles will not be stopped or checked and sentries dealing with civilians will be polite.
