The Excise Department has launched the process to auction vacant retail liquor licences in Belagavi district through a fully online e-auction system for the first time this year.
According to a notification issued by the State Excise Commissionerate, applications have been invited for vacant CL-2A and CL-9A licences. The entire auction process will be conducted through the MSTC e-auction portal, where applicants must register online, upload the required documents, and pay the prescribed earnest money deposit (EMD).
Online registration for the e-auction commenced on July 3, while applications will be accepted from July 6 to July 14. The live online bidding for licences across the district is scheduled to take place between July 24 and July 31.

In Belagavi, the schedule has been finalised as follows:
- Belagavi North Range: E-auction for 10 CL-2A licences on July 27.
- Belagavi South Range: E-auction for 11 CL-2A licences on July 30.
- CL-9A Licences: Two licences will also be auctioned
The Excise Department has advised all prospective bidders to carefully review the eligibility criteria, auction terms, and other guidelines available on the State Excise Department’s website and the MSTC portal before submitting their applications.
