We have only that piece of land, how do we survive after you take it, asked an old lady to the officers of the NHAI.
The farmers of the Halga- Macche bypass had a meeting with the officials of the NHAI, where they requested that their land should not be acquired as it was the only source of income and what will they after their land is taken away.

Farmers there said they would commit suicide at the same place if the work was commenced again.

The meeting was held at the NHAI office at Shiv Basav Nagar in the city.

The 9 km Halga Macche bypass on which work had not progressed as the farmers had protested as the majority of the land is fertile and multiple crops are been taken was commenced yesterday under police protection.

Since 2011, the said road is planned but due to the protests, the work could not be commenced.

The process of land acquisition was first started in 2008.

The govt. must employee at max 2 members from each family as they can be their the source of income(that employment must be to only the family members who’s land is occupied only their generation must occupy the employment) bcoz the land is their forever that would be passed to their next generation and soon.Similarly the employment must be passed to their generation. If the govt. promises to do so i’m damn sure they never keep their words I don’t trust the government. If the govt. can’t do justice to these helpless farmer’s then DON’T GO FOR THE CONSTRUCTION WE DON’T NEED GO FOR ALTERNATIVE .” kisi ka ghar ujad kar dusaro k ghar khushiyan nai aati”

The government needs to tackle the issue with caution and take care of the farmers needs as well the road is needed as it can divert the heavy vehicles passing thru the city and cause of major deaths.
