Belagavi: Farmer organizations have called for a statewide Karnataka Bandh on Saturday, October 31, intensifying their agitation over demands related to sugarcane prices.
Farmer leader Chunappa Pujeri announced the bandh, alleging that the state government has failed to respond adequately to the growers’ demands.
The farmers are demanding a total payment of ₹5,500 per tonne of sugarcane, comprising ₹4,500 from sugar factories and a ₹1,000 incentive from the state government.
Farmer leaders have warned that the agitation will continue until the government fulfils their demands.
