While Passport Seva Kendras have gone digital, officials verifying passport applicants are making hay, 100 by 100 or sometimes more.
In a similar incident at Mal Maruti Police station, the person who had gone for the verification got a call from the Feedback cell established at the police headquarters which is handled by women. And in the feedback the person said that he had paid 150 as bribe for the passport verification. Within an hour that constable was dismissed from service.
The feedback cell gets the info from all the 14 Police stations attached to the Police Commissionerate. Each police station has been asked to collect mobile or contact numbers of each and everyone who comes to the station for any kind of help or complaint. At the end of the data is collected and then calls are made from the Feedback cell to ascertain the level of service or any grievance of the citizens they faced during their visit.
Anupam Agarawal, DCP has taken interest in this cell and if any complaint is received it is disposed of on priority.
