Four persons were killed and two were injured when their Innova car rammed the divider near Vantmuri at about 9.45 PM on Thursday.
All were from Chikkodi and were returning from Amboli trip and were heading home when this incident occurred.
All the deceased are engineering students as per the police and have been identified as Ijaz Pathan, Vinayak Piraje, Sanjeev, Sushant Mane (22).
The driver lost control of the car and hit the divider and toppled and hit the bus shelter and toilet block at the Vantmuri ghat.
That spot is particularly dangerous. Rash driving on highways is better curtailed.
