Free Swimming Camp for Differently Abled and Under-privileged Children Concludes

The Signature project of Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum the 18th Free Swimming Coaching Camp for the Differently Abled and Under-privileged children was successfully conducted from 1st February 2019 to 25th February 2019 at Rotary Corporation Sports Academy’s Swimming Pool, Belagavi for a period of 21 days. This camp was organized in association with Rotary Club of Belgaum.

More than 207 children comprising of Mentally Challenged, Visually challenged, Physically challenged, Hearing challenged, Orphans and Under-privileged children were taught basics of swimming during this camp. These children were provided with free transportation, swimming kit, and staple diet every day apart from free training to all the participants. The best performers from this coaching camp have been chosen for competitive training and to prepare for the various competitions.

Talented participants of this coaching camp demonstrated various skills learnt during the camp. The demonstration performed by Miss Usha from Mahewari School for Blind Jumping from 10 ft height diving board was a jaw dropping moment. Swim by Indo Tibetian Border Police Force soldier Mr. Shrikant Desai brought tears in the eyes of spectators. All the participants, students of CBALC, auto drivers, teachers and swimming coaches were honored at the hands of Chief Guests for their services rendered towards the noble cause.

While speaking before the participants Dr. Kore congratulated the organizers for their services rendered for the upliftment of Divyang and Downtrodden society and expressed his feeling saying the best program ever attended in his life. Also assured all the support and help from the KLE Society.

This camp was highly been supported by Hathway Cables, Vardhaman Cables and Conductors, Jaybharat Foundation (Ashok Iron Works), Dasappa Shanbagh Trust, South Konkan Education Society, SCAW team of Canada, Faculty College of Nursing AIIMS, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Shri Ortho and Trauma Centre, Allied Founders and many others.
