German government agency will fund the sewage treatment plant project in Belagavi city. Agency will invest Rs.356 crores for the plant and Rs 100 crores for Nala Development and Rs 20 crores for surrounding lakes development.
Currently Corporation releases sewage water to Ballary Nala that joins into Markandeya river polluting the drinking water. The Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) will implement be the project implementing agency.
The plant would be set up on the 19 acres and 32 gunta land at Halaga.
