GIT Project Expo – A New Perspective of Innovation and Research

Project expo 2019, a project exhibition by the final year BE students was held at Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi. Shri. Sachin Sabnis, Managing Director (MD), Ferrocast Pvt. Ltd., Belagavi inaugurated the exhibition where 800 + students have exhibited more than 200 projects in the expo.

The building an innovation-driven – ecosystem which develops economic success and wealth, in turn, it helps to build superpower India is very important, said Shri Sachin Sabnis. This GIT project expo is the perfect representation of the new perspective of innovation and research, he told. There is an urgent need to inspire the young minds to take research so that their innovative minds will come up with a solution for today’s societal problems, he told.

This kind of platforms truly helps creative minds to showcase their innovative ideas and GIT is always been a frontrunner in providing this kind of ecosystems and platforms, he told. Through technical skills and knowledge today’s students should participate in Nation progress, he said. He has pointed out the importance of involving in finding the problems and designing the solutions in the form of projects and innovations. Shri. Sachin Sabnis appreciated the efforts of staff and students for the value-adding Endeavour which aims to unleash creative & problem-solving skills of students.

Vinayak Lokur, Member, KLS, Belagavi said that, engineering is an applied science so today’s students should learn the basics properly and apply their innovative minds to have unique invention.also he told that, in view of technical skills today’s students are super-competent but they are weak in presentation or marketing a product so you have to develop presentation skills as well, he suggested the students.

Details about some of the projects- Nanotechnology-based water treatment process, a bloodless Sugar level testing technique, IoT based Smart Home, A sensor based hand gloves for dumb person for smart conversations, Mobile app was developed by students to help farmers in testing the rice quality, IoT based attendance monitoring device was presented, Digital neurologist – IoT based technique, Students presented a working model for floating vehicle for waste collector for lake. Students demonstrated the special design of gear system for a specially-abled vehicle specifically designed for legless persons, With the intention of designing a light translucent wall, experimental results of a study on Light Translucent Concrete were presented. Besides these, many working models on innovative ideas about nanotechnology, green energy, agriculture, transportation, digitization, health, Agri Solutions, Solar Solutions. Water Harvesting, Traffic Management, Waste Management, etc were displayed.
