North Karnataka, Goa & Southern Maharashtra are deprived of comprehensive Cancer hospitals.
The construction work of the proposed KLE Society’s Cancer Hospital, Belagavi (near Dharamshala KLE Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC) is near completion and will start functioning in the first half of 2022 said Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Chairman of the KLE Society.
He was speaking after reviewing the progress of construction work of KLE Society’s Cancer hospital at Belagavi. Dr. Kore further added Cancer hospital which will offer the entire gamut of cancer care by providing top quality and result-oriented cancer treatment to needy patients by adopting global standards.
The medical technology-driven, State-of-the-art Hospital will be equipped with the most modern medical gadgets and equipment’s which are unheard of in this part of Karnataka. The Hospital will provide a wide spectrum of cancer care which includes surgical, radiation & medical oncology all under one roof with a complete range of latest generation diagnostics.
200 bedded cancer hospital built and equipped at a cost of Rs. 200 crores is designed to have highly ventilated, airy wards which provide ultimate comfort to patients. Modular OTs, round-the-clock diagnostics including nuclear medicine, and PET-CT scan technology.
The center has a clinical team comprising of highly qualified, trained, and experienced Surgical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Social workers, and trained nurses.
Presently in the existing hospital at least 30-40 cancer patients are examined by our team of experts. With the new facility coming up all the services will be offered under one roof which is planned to cater chemotherapy, radiation, surgical facilities to all the patients. Dr. Prabhakar Kore instructed the contractor to expedite the construction works. He hoped the upcoming hospital will mitigate the sufferings of sick cancer patients.
On this occasion Dr. V S Sadhunnavar, Shankaranna Munavalli, S C Metgud, Dr. Vivek Saoji, Vice-Chancellor, KAHER, Dr. M V Jali, Medical Director, Dr. Umesh Mahantshetti, Director Tata Memorial Cancer hospital, Vizag, Dr. Kumar Vinchurkar, Dr. Imtiyaz, and others were present.
