Photo of author

It has been a long journey with 5 flights in a day to Zero, and then again one Air India Flight to Bengaluru.

With the Starair Ahmedabad and the Alliance Air Pune Flight commencement the total number of flights to 6 a day except for Tuesday. 3 routes out of the 13 allotted in UDAN have been made operational.

And the good news is the Upward Movement of traffic from Belagavi.

The Hyderabad Belagavi Spicejet flight saw a good load factor of 90% and on the return flight, the load was 93% which is very encouraging.

all-airplanes udanThe Alliance Air Belagavi Pune Flight has seen loads of 76% and 80% on return flights.

The Bengaluru Belagavi Ahmedabad flight by Star Air has a load factor of 64% and 96% for the return journey.

Still, the main flight which all are looking forward is the Mumbai connection, which might happen soon.

Trujet is likely to start operations from the 3rd quarter.

Other flight operators must look into the load factor to give more connections from this 77-year-old airport.

  4. We do need flights to and from Belgavi, however remember there should be enough demand. Belgavi has to improve in many ways to attract travelers . Smart city is still in works for many years due to political fights and mismanagement.

  5. Thanfully Belgaum airport and flights are doing well, not like some of the airlines being shut down at national level.
I expect to increase cargo service with opportunity for services alongwith DHL as mostly it lacks in international reach..

  6. Good to see the Improvements in the Percentage of Passengers. But I hope there is a proper Cab/Bus connectivity from Airport to the city and vise versa.

  7. Awesome. Finally there is something good for people travelling on Hyderabad – Belagavi – Hyderabad Route. Else the train ad bus services are really worse. The worst part is the roads and speed humps. The journey is absolutely uncomfortable to everyone.

I really hope Belagavi RTC is running buses at appropriate timings for common people to get to and from the city without a hole in their pockets. After all this is all being done for common people under UDAN scheme.

I request the editor to tell us if the RTC has plans for airport connectivity from the city.

  8. Most encouraging, as I have said at out set if my comments that Belagavites will take this opportunity by both the hands .This emerging city and being an educational hub has emmence potential for the aviation sector.I do hope , all the scheduled 13 flights routes will be fully operational as per schedule. I am more interested in Belagavi -Tirupati flight,as we will be first passenger to book in the very first flight going to Tirupati and back,so that we can offer our prayer to Lord Balaji as soon as possible.
At the same time I once again remind to the district administration to provide a good shuttle bus services between the airport and the Belagavi city.
At last congranulations to all concerned with whome efforts the UDAN 3 operational have become possible.
My special Congratulations to the hon’ble MP ,Dr Prabhakar Kore, for leaving no stone unturned to get the UDAN 3 operational. My big Salute to Kore sir.
