The forest staff is responsible for the protection and care of wildlife and its habitat. The job of the forest frontline staff is very difficult as they have to work 24×7 in all kinds of weather and temperatures in the remote areas. Though the forest staff is covered under the Government Medical Scheme, due to paucity of time, it is not possible for all of the staff members to approach good medical specialists for check-up & follow-up treatment.

Forest frontline staff play an indispensable role in protecting the forest habitats and species that we strive to conserve. Their job involves patrolling vast swathes of often-inhospitable terrain with bare minimum protection and hardly any access to emergency medical facilities in case of any severe mishaps or illnesses suffered on-job.

The Karnataka Forest Dept. – Belagavi Forest Division in association with KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital & supported by Eco Volunteers plan to organize a Health check-up camp for the forest frontline staff – as a special tribute to the foot soldiers of wildlife conservation, during ‘Wildlife Week, Oct 2016’
