The initiative, led by the Forest Department and the Village Forest Committee Dhamane S. Bailur under the guidance of the Deputy Conservator of Forests, aims to promote eco-friendly tourism while generating employment for local communities.

Trekking Fee Structure:

  • Adults: ₹250
  • Children: ₹150
  • Camera Fee: ₹50

Three beautiful and diverse trekking routes have been reopened with defined trails and forest protection measures in place. Each trail starts and ends at the Dhamane Anti-Poaching Camp, which plays a crucial role in protecting the forest from illegal activities.

The Karnataka Forest Department and the Karnataka Eco-Tourism Development Board had first launched these eco-trekking routes in January 2022. The response was overwhelming, with thousands of tourists visiting and local residents benefiting from employment as forest guides and support staff.

However, operations were paused following directions from the Chief Operating Officer of the Eco-Tourism Board. With formalities now complete, the program has been revived with better organization and defined fee structures to ensure long-term sustainability and minimal environmental impact.
