Heavy deployment of police in Belgaum

igp belgaumBELGAUM – Elaborate security arrangements have been done for the 10 day winter session to commence from Monday in the city.

The entire city had been divided into 15 divisions and each division would be have one Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), two circle police inspectors (CPIs), eight sub-inspectors (PSIs), 15 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), 25 head constables and eight women constables. One platoon of the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) would be deployed in each division.

Four additional superintendents of police, 21 DySPs, 81 CPIs, 228 PSIs, 360 ASIs, 2,777 head/police constables, and 98 women constables had been deployed for security arrangements.

Ten bomb-detection squads, two companies of the Rapid Action Force, 23 platoons of the KSRP, 19 platoons of the District Armed Reserve police and 250 Home Guards had also been deployed.
