Rita Lima (21) had just stepped into the most lively time of her life, College life where she had taken admission for BCA, but her joys were very short lived as she got affected by GB syndrome a very rare disease.
Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare medical condition that affects the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. Although it can be frightening because it often causes people to have some type of paralysis. This syndrome is very rare: It only affects 1 or 2 people in every 100,000. Most of the people who do get Guillain-Barré syndrome recover and return to their normal lives and activities.
Rita Philip Lima aged 21 is currently undergoing treatment at the ICU for GBS at Dr.Prabhakar Kore hospital Belagavi. The estimated expenses for here treatment is 6-7 lakhs. Rita’s father works in a bakery and is not in a financial position to get her daughter operated. She got fever and all of a sudden she got a attack of paralysis and later it was found out to be GB Syndrome.
Rita is a fun loving girl who did her schooling from Divine Providence Belagavi and later completed her 12th from Halyal.
If she can be treated early she can fully recover from this GB Syndrome, doctors said.
