Press reporters were seated on the stairs of the new building of the circuit house and was Basavaraj Rayareddy (Congress) MLA from Yalburga. The press meet happened over the stairs of the building as the Police did not allow Rayareddy sighting security reasons as the same was reserved for CM. Even former minister Umesh Katti was denied permission to held his press conference.
Both the MLAs have now decided to move a privilege motion in assembly on December 2 against the Belgaum Deputy Commissioner N Jayaram, Circle Police Inspector (CPI) Sanjeev Kumar and Deputy Director of Information Basavaraj Kambi for not allowing them to address a press meet at Circuit House in Belgaum on Sunday.
All the press fraternity were informed about the press meet but the circuit house was locked and security personnel did not open the same.
