H D Revanna, Public Works Department Minister has said that the Mysuru-Bengaluru and the Hubballi-Belagavi roads will be developed on the lines of Australia, reports the Deccan Herald.

The minister had recently toured Australia.

Revanna said the Australian government has adopted the best technology for laying of highways, road safety, and management of the property.

The passengers will not be tired even if they travel 500 km a day. There are no potholes on roads and trucks travel at a speed of 90 km per hour in Australia, he added.

  1. Belagavi Hubli is already a 3 lane highway.. so with little more development it is possible to make it international standard highway… we should not be negative always… Govt. will need to spend very little to make it Australia like road… so keep fingers crossed..

  2. Need of the hour is to educate the users about fast /medium/slow lanes especially the heavy vehicle drivers to be on their track ( extreme right side-slow / heavy loaded vehicles lane ) and give way to the vehicles on fast /express track. Otherwise any efforts to improve the quality of roads will be a waste.
Also govt should take strict action against the contractors who take the road toll but fail to meet our expectation.
