Inconsistencies in VTU VC Maheshappas resume

A Bangalore-based RTI applicant has brought to the front inconsistencies in the resume submitted to the Governor by VTU Vice Chancellor Dr. Maheshappa.


Dr. Maheshappa had claimed in his resume that he had passed his BE in 1983 with a first class. However, the documents show that Dr. Maheshappa had passed BE in second class.

University stated in reply to a query under RTI that, he candidate (Dr. Maheshappa) has so far not applied for his degree certificate. The candidate had taken admission in B.D.T. Engineering College, Davangere on August 11, 1977 and completed the course in 1982.

In the 64th annual convocation of University of Mysore held on February 16, 1984, the candidate was qualified for the B.E. Degree (Mechanical Engineering). However, the candidate has so far not applied for the degree certificate.

The reports with regard to the academic credentials of the Vice-Chancellor have not gone down well with the students. It has become a subject of discussion on the campus.
