The industries engaged in the manufacture of Essential goods in Belagavi district have got a nod to function with 50% capacity, Belagavi District Small Scale Industries Association (BDSSIA) said.

BDSSIA president Rohan Juvali in a release, said “We requested MLA Abhay Patil to use his good offices to convince the administration of the need to let us work at reduced labor force. He spoke to Deputy Commissioner M.G. Hiremath who has now issued conditional permission to industries to work at half their manpower capacity.”

With strict adherence to covid guidelines all those industries who have pending orders and which are classified as essential goods can operate after they sought permission by email from [email protected] or by sending a letter on the company’s letterhead to the Department of Industries in Udyambag.

The company must issue Identity cards and also each employee must possess the permission letter issued by the DIC to go to the workplace and return home.

This permission will be given to only those industries which fall under the Essential goods category and the DIC will approve the same.
