Infrastructure Minister MB Patil said that the Railway Department has rejected the proposal to extend the Vande Bharat Express to Belagavi due to lack of infrastructure. MB Patil answered Congress member Prakash Hukkeri’s question during the Vidhan Parishad question and answer session. Vande Bharat Express train project should be extended to Belagavi. The railway department has already done a trial run. But now there is a lack of basic facilities and said that the project will not be expanded.

Prakash Hukkeri said – We do not agree with this. Take steps to expand Vande Bharat to Belgaum immediately. He demanded that if Vande Bharat is not expanded, the state government should withhold the money released for the railway project
Patil assured that efforts to appeal to the central government would continue, stressing the significance of the project for Belagavi. He also mentioned that the Railway Minister, being from the same state, would be approached again to reconsider the extension of the Vande Bharat Express to Belagavi.
“We will appeal once more to the central government for the extension of the Vande Bharat train to Belagavi,” Patil said.
