Maharashtra Ekikaran Samithi “Maha Melava” – a parallel people’s session of the Marathi linguistic community – on the first day of the winter session of the State legislature here on December 13 at the Vaccine Depot ground.

The activist, who was identified as Sampath of the Karnataka Nav Nirman Pade raised slogans in favor of the state.
Police detained Sampath and moved him away from the vaccine depot.

It may be recalled here that the MES has been organizing Maha Melava at the Subhash Chandra Bose ground in Tilakwadi in the city ever since the State government started holding legislature sessions in 2006.

The MES has now called a bandh on Tuesday after the incident of ink throwing on its leader.
