IXG is the second Busiest airport in Karnataka

Belagavi made its mark on the air map of India in the year 1942, and ever since then many airlines have opted this Airport and served this region, besides there are regular aircraft from Air force and some private jest too been flying in and out here.

However, the month of June 2020 has made Belagavi – IXG as the second busiest airport in Karnataka after Bengaluru of course.

June month saw 391 aircraft movements and 10224 was the passenger load for the month.

Since the flights were resumed after the lockdown 25,300 passengers have reached their destinations by 855 operations being conducted.

Belagavi Airport was being served well in recent past with five aircraft a day to Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, all of sudden the UDAN 2 came in effect all the five flights are diverted to Hubli.

Belagavi was back with a bang and now leading in terms of more routes and more aircraft in the region. Belagavi airport trending up to the upward growth trajectory with flights to Bengaluru 3, Mumbai 2, Hyderabad 3, Mysore, Pune, Indore, Ahmedabad.

Belagavi Airport Director Rajesh Kumar Maruya recently as a Guest Speaker in Digital conference on New Age Connectivity & Logistics, organized by CII,Belagavi said domestic cargo of size 4000 Sqm(43,000 Sqft) is under planning and Hanger is awarded to M/S Ghodawat group at Belagavi Airport.
We can plan more activities like Hanger & Cargo and land is available.

  1. Regarding Cargo services as honourable minister Sri Suresh angadi has made some efforts to adjoining the train cargo with air corgo at sambra for agricultural and industrial products export please expedite all necessary requirements as things must get practical
