Pro-Kannada organizations, led by activist Vatal Nagaraj, have called for a statewide Karnataka Bandh on March 22, to protest against recent attacks on KSRTC bus conductors and drivers and the “brazen violence” by pro-Marathi activists.Â
A meeting was held in Bengaluru to finalize the decision, confirming that the bandh will take place from 6 AM to 6 PM.
Why is the Bandh Being Called?
The bandh is being organized in response to a recent incident where alleged Marathi miscreants smeared ink on the faces of KSRTC transport staff and physically assaulted them. Vatal Nagaraj and other pro-Kannada leaders are demanding strict action against those involved and urging the government to take stronger measures to prevent such attacks in the future.

Protest March Planned
A protest march will take place in Bengaluru from Town Hall to Freedom Park at 10:30 AM on the day of the bandh. Vatal Nagaraj has urged the public to avoid traveling and support the protest, calling it a fight for Kannada self-respect.
With major transport unions and business groups backing the bandh, travelers and commuters are advised to plan their schedules accordingly.
