KLE University to collaborate with Thomas Jefferson University of Philadelphia

The KLE Society has been a pioneer in promoting Medical Education, Healthcare and Research through academic collaborations with international universities of excellence and repute over the past two decades. Continuing its quest for excellence and to respond to the challenge thrown by the Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, the KLE University is exploring opportunities for collaboration with Thomas Jefferson University of Philadelphia, USA, one of the oldest universities in the US, established in 1824 and currently ranked among the top ten universities in the US.

Mr John C Ekarius, Executive Vice President, Dr Cataldo Doria, Professor of Transplant Surgery, Ms Janice Marini, Vice President for University Affairs, Dr Madhukar Thakur, Director Radiopharmaceutical Research and Molecular Imaging and Dr Richard Derman, Director, Global Health Research visited J N Medical College, Belagavi and KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC on 17th and 18th Nov 2016.

The delegation expressed immense pleasure over the infrastructure, the research activities and the patient care services. The two universities will have academic affiliation and provide a platform for student and faculty exchange programs besides undertaking research projects in the areas of neuro-degenerative disorders, organ transplant, diabetes and radio imaging technologies. This will further strengthen the ongoing research collaboration led by Dr. Richard Derman and Dr. B S Kodkany in the areas of Maternal and Child Health. The said project is being funded by the National Institute of Health, USA.
