Loan accounts in the name of the deceased at KPTCL Co-op Society

A complaint has been filed with the CEN police station against former chairman and directors of the KPTCL Co-op Credit Society Nehru Nagar for misappropriation of funds.

In the complaint, it has been stated that around 30 loan accounts have been opened in the name of the deceased and about Rs. 3 crores have been siphoned.

The misappropriation goes back to 2015- 2020.

The complaint says that the funds collected from the members were used for the personal benefits of the directors.

BR Gaddekar, CEN Police inspector has begun the investigation and all those named would be summoned for an inquiry.

According to the Deccan Herald, the names as per the complaint are former chairman Netaji Peeraji Patil, former secretary Mahesh Patil, former vice-chairman Praveenkumar Chikade, former directors Suresh Kamble, Suresh Kolkar, Ajit Pujari, Mallasarja Shahapurkar, Vilas Pawashe, Subhash Hallolli, S Vanthan, Hanumanta Patil, Hanumant Patil, Draxayani Nesargi, Gayatri K R, Shilpa Chavan, B L Godalkundargi and Rajendrakumar Halingali.

Recently a new management board has taken over and while verifying the records this misappropriation has come to the fore.
