Renowned Marathi writer and a freedom fighter Madhavi Desai(80) expired this morning at Belgaum. She was staying with her daughter Mira Tarlekar in Belgaum.
Madhavi Desai was the daughter of famous theatre personality Bhalji Pendharkar.
She had married famous Marathi writer Ranajit Desai and her autobiography – Naach Ga Ghuma on their marital relationship had raised a controversy.
The autobiography had received many coveted awards and it has also been translated into other Indian languages.
Popularly known to all as Madhavitai she also participated and jailed in the Satyagraha during Goan liberation struggle.
She is great human being….RIP
