An informal inter-state coordination meeting of Governors of Karnataka and Maharashtra was convened to discuss infrastructure and policing in border districts among others issues on November 4 at Kolhapur.
Maharashtra Governor Bhagatsing Koshiyari and Karnataka Governor Thavarchand Gehlot on Friday had a meeting at Kolhapur to discuss various pending issues between Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The Divisional Commissioner of Pune, and the Collectors or Deputy Commissioners of Kolhapur, Solapur, Usmanabad and Latur in Maharashtra and Vijaypura, Belagavi, Kalburgi (Gulbarga) and Bidar in Karnataka were present at the meeting.
The meeting discussed various issues related to people living in border areas between the two states. The meeting also covered the raising of the height of the Almatti irrigation dam.
