Making of the Road Over Bridge by SWR at Gogte Circle Belagavi
The 110-year-old railway over-bridge connecting Gogte Circle Belagavi and Basaveshwar Circle on Khanapur Road was brought down and the work to replace it with a four-lane bridge began in the First week of October 2017 and has been completed.
The new built Road over Bridge at Gogte circle which has come up in lieu of the 110-year-old British built bridge will be inaugurated on December 25, 2018, at 11 AM which also coincides with the birth anniversary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Road over Bridge at Level Crossing 126 A is now a Four laned bridge with divider and footpath.
The new bridge will be named as Basveshwar Bridge as a resolution to that effect has been already passed in the Belagavi City Corporation.
The old British built bridge was closed for traffic on October 14, 2017. It may be noted that the said old bridge was built by the British and work commenced in 1901 and work was completed in 1905.
