Man sentenced to five years imprisonment in fake currency case

NIA Special Court Bangalore Convicts and Sentences An Accused in Chikodi –Karnataka FICN Case (RC 12/2018/NIA/DLI)

On 06.01.2022 NIA Special Court, Bangalore pronounced judgement in a case RC-2/2018/NIA/DLI (Chikodi FICN Case) and convicted accused Shahnoyaj Kasuri @ Shahnawaz @ Shanu @ Khan @ Ishak Shaikh S/o Sohrab Ali under sections 120B, 489 (B) and 489 (C) of IPC and sentenced him to 5 years of Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) and fine of Rs. 5000/-.

The case was originally registered as FIR No. 104/2018, dated 12.03.2018 pertaining to recovery of 41 Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) having face value Rs. 82,000/-. NIA had re-registered the case as RC-12/2018/NIA/DLI on 14.04.2018.

Earlier three Charge Sheets were filed by NIA on 07.06.2018, 10.12.2018 and 15.09.2021 in the case.

Trial against the remaining accused persons is continuing.
