The Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti yesterday took out a huge rally starting from Sardars High School ground urging the government to heed the demands of linguistic minorities.
The state government should have government records in Marathi as “many of those living in Belgaum district speak Marathi”. They also demanded rectification of mistakes in the preparation/ distribution of ration cards. Fertile land being acquired by BUDA and KIADB should be immediately stopped; these were a few demands of the protestors.
