Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development has cancelled the changes in land use in the proposed Master Plan (Revised 2 – 2021) for Belagavi city. He was responding to a demand by the Belgaum Shetakari Sanghatana who met him at the protest site near Suvarna Soudha.
Farmers from Halaga, Basavan Kudachi, Alarwad, Dhamne (S), Shahpur, Old Belagavi, Angol, Machhe, Peeranwadi, Khadarwadi, Hunchenatti, Jaitmal, Zhad Shahpur, Mandoli, Savgaon, Benakanahalli, Hindalga, Kangrali B.K., Kangra K.H., Goundwad, Kakti, Kanabargi, Belagavi and Yamanapur of Belagavi taluk took out a procession from the Belgaum Urban Development Authority office and staged a dharna near the soudha to seek cancellation of the said change in Land use of 30,000 acres of agriculture land as per the Master plan 2020-21.

Excellent decision to revoke. Our local leaders seem to be obsessed with land than any other work. Looks like get power to amass land.
