Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has found himself in the centre of a sex scandal after some local Kannada TV channels on Tuesday aired an alleged sex tape featuring the minister.

He has now resigned from the state Cabinet and has handed over his resignation to Chief minister BS Yediyurappa.

Activist and Nagarika Hakku Horata Samiti president Dinesh Kallahalli filed a complaint with the Cubbon Park police at around 6.45 pm on Tuesday evening after meeting city police commissioner Kamal Pant.

The CD was released to the media by social activist Dinesh Kalahalli, who alleged that the woman in the video clips was enticed by the minister with a government job offer.

“This is a political conspiracy. The video is fake. Let there be a full investigation. Culprits should be booked. I don’t know anyone,” Ramesh Jarkhiholi said.

“I was in the Chamundi temple when I was informed (about the tape). I was shocked and I couldn’t stand before the goddess. I left the temple immediately and rushed to Bengaluru. Now, I am talking to the media and after this I will be heading to New Delhi. I will explain all to party seniors and I am ready to face any course of action if I am found guilty,” Jarkiholli said.

He denied knowing activist Dinesh Kallahalli who has filed a complaint in the Cubbon Park police station.

Meanwhile, neither the girl nor Minister Ramesh Jarkiholli has filed any complaint. “The girl hasn’t filed any complaint, and neither has the minister filed a complaint of blackmail. The issue is complicated as the complainant, Dinesh Kalahalli, is the third party. The police will have to ask the girl to appear before the investigating officer to answer several questions,” said a senior police officer who did not wish to be quoted, reports https://thebengalurulive.com/
