“MLIRC Massive Green Plantation Drive” in the Heart of the city or best called as the lung space of Belagavi (Argan Talav/Golf course)
More than 1000’s of MLIRC jawans started preparing for bedding, planting & watering for 1200 plus plantation drive at the Argan Talav in a span of few hours along with The Forest Department & Ex-Servicemen Association.
Speaking to Kiran Nippanikar (Feature Editor AAB) The Commandant of Maratha Regimental Centre said “Plant one tree, water ten trees, support 100 trees and prepare 1000 saplings for next plantation & let us make water and oxygen surplus for Belagavi by planting so many trees” ? last year the Commandant along with the Ex-Service men’s & Jawans of the MLIRC de-silted the Argan Talav which is a 5 stepped lake, the team also had put great efforts in conserving water & beautification of the lake.
DCF M V Amarnath (Forest Department) said “It’s always appreciable to see institutional heads coming forward with their team for Green drives, it’s a pleasure to welcome & participate wholeheartedly for such initiatives”
ACF S M Sangoli (Forest Department) said “The Commandant of MLIRC & his team have been doing a great job for the green cover of Belagavi, proud of the Army”
Shreenath Kadolkar RFO (Forest Department) said “They have planned & are in the process of planting 21 kms of stretch in the Belagavi City. Per KM 300 nos plants about a year old of local species like Tamarind, Jackfruit, Amla, Guava, Bamboo, Mango, Lemons, etc”

Great work jointly by MLRC and Forest Dept to green the loving City goes back to old memories of Belagavi kudos to all participants.
