Belagavi Half Marathon is an Ambitious Annual Running event started in the year 2018.
It is being organized with the twin aims of Creating Health Awareness through Running and to raise funds for Health Promotion in Government Schools in and around Belagavi. It is being held on 29th Sep 2019 in the categories of 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and Fun run.
Lakeview Foundation the promoters and organizers, and Rotary Club of Venugram, Belagavi, Co-organizers of this event consider it as their social responsibility to promote a healthy lifestyle among the citizens of Belagavi city and around.
The Social Impact Theme of the event is “ADOPT A Govt SCHOOL – Build Strong India”
The event this year has been planned to be conducted on Sunday, 29th Sep 2019. It’s going to be a Mega event with the participation of more than 5000 serious runners from all over Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa. This event is being managed by “You Too Can Run”, a professional body involved in conducting marathons all over India.
Running is considered one of the important fitness regimes to maintain good health. Conduct of marathons and runs helps in motivating the local population to train and maintain an active lifestyle thus controlling various diseases like diabetes and heart ailments.
Last year the event was organized on 21st Oct 2018 with a total participation of around 1500 people from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa. Marathon was also supported by City Corporation and MLIRC, Belagavi. The organizers are leaving no stone unturned to make this event one of the best of its kind in the region.
A separate run category has been planned for the participation of our armed forces (Maratha Light Infantry, Commando trainees, Airforce trainees of Sambra, ITBP) and Police Personnel.
The fees for the event are –
5km – Rs 600/-
10km – Rs 800/-
21Km – Rs 1000/- (half marathon)
Fun Run – Rs 200/- (below 16yrs)
Fun Run – Rs 300/- (above 16yrs)
