Amidst the backdrop of the inefficiency of metered auto-rickshaws in Belagavi, Namma Yatri’s expansion plans signal a much-needed change. With none of the autos operating on meters, the introduction of a reliable ride-hailing app like Namma Yatri could indeed be a game-changer for the city. Shan M S, Chief Growth Officer at fintech company Juspay, revealed that Namma Yatri aims to extend its services to six more cities in Karnataka within the next six months, including Belagavi.
Namma Yatri’s success story began in Bengaluru in November 2022, where it revolutionized the ride-hailing landscape by offering zero commission for drivers and fair pricing for passengers. Since then, it has garnered significant traction, facilitating over 1.1 lakh rides in Bengaluru alone, capturing a notable 25% market share.
As the service prepares to expand its footprint across Karnataka, Belagavi stands to benefit immensely from its promise of reliable, transparent, and hassle-free auto-rickshaw rides.
