The roads in Belagavi have turned from bad to worse following rains.
The Smart city tag which is mere a tag on paper it seems as after the rains the roads have become a dusty and commuting on them especially on two-wheelers is a major issue for motorists.
Several roads in the town have been in tatters due to various reasons and some of the potholes have been filled with mud and the loose soil is now dusty and sometimes the motorists cant even see the vehicle in the front on Congress road, even near Dharmveer Sambhaji circle, College road just to name a few.
Motorists rue that traveling on the potholed roads filled with sand has become a horrible experience. They said that they are suffering from breathing problems and reaching their workplace covered in dust.
Sujit said, “Let the elected representatives travel on motorcycles instead of cars to feel the plight of motorists,”.
It was high time that the authorities fill the potholes on the roads properly which will not cause health problems to motorists.
What is going on? Who is the chief officer navigating the smart city project and is there a problem using the common sense to see that those project are done correctly? For example no one has to put up with the potholes on those roads. Roads should be built strong enough so that they could last longer period of time but not to wash away with one rain. Who is eating up all this money allocated for the Smart City project for a lousy job performances ? Get with the program all you chief officers and elected officials, let your consciences souls get energized from the lethargic state and do good to lift up the city of Belgavi instead of having selfish behavior to lift yourself.
