According to a report by the Times of India, the NWKRTC bus fares have been increased by ₹5-10 on national highways. This hike has been implemented on routes such as Hubballi-Gadag, Hubballi-Belagavi, Hubballi-Haveri, and others where buses are required to pay tolls for the usage of highways.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has increased toll prices from April 1, which has led to this hike in bus fares.

Interestingly, neither the government nor the NWKRTC has made any public announcement regarding this hike. This has led to people questioning whether this hike is a result of the introduction of the Shakti scheme.

However, sources within the NWKRTC have clarified that the NHAI has increased the fare in accordance with the toll hike, which is an annual occurrence. It is possible that the hike was delayed this year due to the elections.

  1. NH HIGHWAY is under construction so why need to pay toll to NHAI…. Actually they has to stop receiving the toll because road is still under construction…. Without road why we should pay toll….
