The wait for the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra to be opened in Belagavi is getting lesser, and if we go as per our sources it should be operational in a months time before the end of June 2017.

The centres are attached to post offices and a fully functional Passport Seva Kendra will operate from them, where people can submit their passport applications, the biometrics and have it approved. Only the printing of the passports will be done at the Passport Office in Bengaluru.

passportThe centres were expected to be operational by end of March, but have been hampered by delays.

Passport Officer Bharath Kumar Kuthati has said, Once the Department of Posts identifies the location, we will be ready to move in. Setting up our operations will not take long. We expect to set up the whole operations in one month’s time.

The centre in Belagavi which will be housed at the Head Post Office, Camp Near Amba Bhuvan is very centrally located and would be easily accessible for all. The location was seen by Passport officer a week ago.

The POPSK will be issuing roughly about 120 appointments in a day.
