Mukul Vasnik AICC General Secretary announced the candidature of Prakash Hukkeri in New Delhi for upcoming Legislative Council elections from the North East Teachers’ constituency.
Hukkeri is a political veteran and s six-time MLA and a former MP, who will clash with sitting MLC Arun Shahpur of the BJP.
Prakash Hukkeri was also a minister in the cabinet of Siddaramaiah.
In 2014 Hukkeri went on to win the Chikkodi Lok Sabha seat but lost to BJP’s Annasaheb Jolle in 2019.
