Praveen Bavadekar receives commendation award at Turkey

City based architect Praveen Bavadekar received the commendation award in the ‘residence with a difference’ category at the prestigious A+D awards 2014.

The award ceremony was held at Istanbul, Turkey, on the 15th of November 2014. He received the awards from the hands of eminent architecture historian and critic William J Curtis, Turkish architect Dogan Hosan and A+D magazine Editor Sumeet Paul.


The ceremony was attended by eminent Indian architects and artists from India and Turkey such as Jatin Das and Harvard Dean Rahul Mehrotra among others.

The A+D Cera architecture is a national level award that celebrates the best contemporary architecture in India, every year.

This is Praveen’s third A+D award and fourth national level award. He has previously won 2 A+D awards in the year 2004 for his Cafe Ajanta and a JK architect of the year award in the year 2012 for the Gangubai Hangal Gurukul at Hubbali.
