The district authorities have clamped prohibitory orders u/s 144 in Belgaum, Khanapur and Nippani after the lathi charge in Yellur yesterday until Tuesday midnight.
Hemant Nimbalkar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Bangalore, has been roped in by the state government to look into this issue of violence after the board was removed by the police for the second time.
The police version says that 18 constables and 7 others were injured in the lathi charge and stone pelting yesterday.
Nimbalkar inspected the damage allegedly caused by the police during the lathi-charge, including damage to doors and windows of some houses. Visuals on TV channels showed that police broke the doors of houses and entered inside. A woman complained that her two-month-old baby was hit by a stone.
Bus service between Karnataka and Maharashtra was suspended after some miscreants hurled stones on a KSRTC bus near Kognolli village on Sunday morning. MSRTC has also suspended services. There were a lot of rumors of a bandh call is given but we could not get a confirmation on the same.Â
BELGAUM MP (MR SURESH ANGADI) SHOULD TAKE ACTIVE PART IN SUCH CRITICAL SITUATION AND DISCUSS THIS MATTER WITH NARENDRA MODIJI AND RESOLVE IT ONCE FOR ALL. MAHARASHTRA SHASAN SHOULD ALSO EXPRESS THEIR INTEREST AT THE SAME TIME. OUR BELGAUM SHOULD DEVELOP IN ALL RESPECT. THANK YOU.
