In a significant milestone for railway connectivity in the region, a CRS inspection with an electric locomotive train was successfully conducted between Kudachi and Miraj today, marking the completion of the electrification of the Miraj-Bengaluru section. This achievement is a crucial step towards enhancing rail travel in Southern India, providing a fully electrified double line from Miraj to Bengaluru.
The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) inspected the newly electrified section today, giving a final nod to commence full-fledged electric train operations. With the electrification of this key section now complete, the Miraj to Bengaluru railway line is set to become fully operational within a few days.
In addition to this significant development, the electrification work between Miraj and Pune has also been completed. This further strengthens the railway network in the region and opens up possibilities for more efficient and environmentally friendly rail services.
With the successful electrification of the Miraj-Bengaluru section, railway authorities are now eyeing the introduction of new high-speed trains to serve the route. Among the anticipated additions is the Pune-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express, which is expected to commence operations soon. The Vande Bharat Express, known for its speed and modern amenities, will significantly reduce travel time between Pune and Belagavi, offering passengers a comfortable and fast travel option.
In the coming days, further announcements regarding the operationalization of the line and the launch of the Pune-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express are expected. Rail enthusiasts, frequent travelers, and industry stakeholders are eagerly awaiting the inauguration of these services, which promise to set new benchmarks in rail transport in the country.

Keep dreaming PG Joshi infact Dharwad Vande Bharat will be extended till Belgavi and this will give link for Bangalore bound passnager from Belgaum not from hemlets and ghettos of hubli/dharwad
If proposed Pune Belagavi Vande Bharat train extended to Hubli passengers of Belagavi get less reservation for Pune.

It would be better if the new VB.Sleeper train is introduced from K.S.R.Bengaluru to Mumbai.
A train from belgaum to hyderabad via miraj, pandurpur,sholapur, kalburgi, mantralaya will benefit 100% to the general public to visit all these places and a direct train to hyderabad will also make the general public will be very happy to get this .
Suggestion to extend Vande Bharat upto SSS Hubballi, which is a Railway division and connectivity to Bengaluru makes good sense to passengers intending to travel between Pune and Bengaluru.
With complete double tracking and electrification, KSR to Mumbai is the ideal choice for Vande sleeper. A distance of under 1100 kms could be covered overnight. A long pending demand and high flight sector, this should be prioritised.
