REGISTER PROPERTY AT ANY SUB-REGISTRAR’S OFFICE IN BELAGAVI DISTRICT FROM TODAY

Beginning today, property registration in Belagavi district takes a significant leap forward with the initiation of ‘anywhere property registration’ by the Karnataka government. Initially launched in Belagavi and Tumkur districts, this innovative approach revolutionizes the registration process. Previously, property registration in Belagavi mandated visits to specific district registrar’s offices, such as the North and South divisions.

Under the new ‘anywhere registration’ policy, building or house owners can register their properties conveniently, regardless of location within the North or South divisions. This progressive scheme comes into effect on March 14, 2024, after being stalled for nine years due to legal challenges.

Previously, Belagavi City and Taluka shared a single Sub-Registrar Office, causing logistical constraints. However, recent developments have led to the establishment of separate sub-registrar offices, enhancing efficiency and accessibility. This expansion not only simplifies the registration process but also saves both time and money for property owners.

Earlier, transactions involving purchases or sales within specific areas necessitated visits to designated Sub-Registrar Offices, posing logistical hurdles. With this new policy, individuals can now conduct transactions across the district at any Sub-Registrar Office, offering unprecedented convenience.

The decentralization of registration services is not new; it has been operational in Bangalore since 2015, with five sub-registration offices facilitating similar services. Now, the same convenience extends to Belagavi district, where each taluka center hosts a sub-registrar office, ensuring accessibility and efficiency for property transactions across the region.
