rtryswimFollowing the highly successful 2012 Rotary Global Swimarathon, the Rotary Club of Belgaum is repeating the exercise in 2013 with the aim of making it the largest one day annual swimming fundraiser in the world. This year the Swimarathon is being held on Rotary Day, Saturday 23rd February 2013 from 1800 hrs to 1900 hrs at Rotary Corporation Swimming Pool Shukurwar Peth (Govaves) Belgaum.

Rotary Club of Grantham (UK), the Organisers of The Rotary Global Swimarathon hope to get as many clubs as possible taking part, throughout the 24 hours, so that someone is swimming in every second of that magical day. This year they hope that most of the Rotary clubs in 530 districts of the world will be taking part. More than 15,000 swimmers in 35 countries are participating and they hope to raise in excess of $200,000 for” End Polio Now”.

The Swimarathon is a fun and easy way for people to raise money and help Rotary to wipe out polio all across the world. We are very close to saying goodbye to this crippling disease and we hope this year’s event will break fundraising records and give End Polio Now the boost it needs to complete its mission.”
