KLE’S Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital Belagavi performed the Second Successful Liver Transplantation in North Karnataka immediately following the first one done a month earlier. Dr. Santosh Hajare, Chief Gastroenterologist stated that the patient has been discharged a few days ago and is doing well, a release said.
This time the liver was donated by the family of patient Mr. Narshing Patil aged 50 years from Kuppatagiri, Khanapur who had met with a road traffic accident on 1st December and was declared brain dead by doctors at KLE’S Hospital.
It was transplanted to a patient from Hubli who was having advanced liver failure and was registered for transplantation at KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital. With these back-to-back surgeries, KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital is fast establishing itself as a Liver Transplant Centre in North Karnataka, Goa and South Maharashtra.
