They cannot be charging exorbitantly for water. We will also take action against establishments which prevent people from carrying water inside their premises.
A first-time offence will draw a fine of Rs 2,000 while a second-time offence will attract six months of jail under Packaged Commodity Rules.

About 17 restaurants and stores were booked for selling bottled water & Carbonated beverages above the printed MRP in Belagavi.

Meanwhile, Khader said the government will soon issue directives for allowing movie goers to carry their own water into the theatres.
