SpiceJet restores its Belagavi to Bengaluru Flight – 6 days a week

Photo of author

After the SaveIXG campaign it seems SpiceJet has decided to restore its one service to Bengaluru even after May 14.

It may be recalled that SpiceJet had diverted all its flights FIVE of them from Belagavi to Hubballi.

This had caused a big backlash from the citizens of Belagavi and various forums had got in touch with the minister and were trying their best to restore the flight services.

As of no the Schedules have been updated and

SG 3468 Belagavi to Bengaluru Departure 3:55 PM Arrival 5:15 PM Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun – and would be effective from 14 May 18 upto 27 Oct 18.

SG 3467 Bengaluru to Belagavi Departure: 2:15 PM Arrival 3:35 PM Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun – 14 May 18 27 Oct 18

However this is 6 days a week with no flights on Tuesday as per this updated schedule.

Still its a partial victory for all those who took to this SaveIXG campaign. Let the Campaign be still on.

  5. Spice Jet Restore flights connecting Bangalore and mumbai others are bonus. If not spice jet some other flight service provider should be engaged by the government. Flights from Belgaum is like today requesting for a bus stop, it is a basic need to connect with the country and the world if this region has to progress.

  6. Spice jet shifted their operations to Hubli, good news for Hubli, although there were two airlines operating i.e.,air india and alliance air, spice jet has taken a good decision as per the udan scheme which will improve all the air connectivity in Hubli which will also help regional areas as Hubli is the commercial centre of north karnataka, which is hard fact to digest for the people of Belgaum.

    • I agree.

Belgaum Airport can be used as Parking for Aircraft from hubli once international operation commence. Don’t think that Belgaum airport development is waste of tax payers money. Surely u can get more destinations from Belgaum. But let us develop Hubli International Airport first

      • Mr Rohan Changadkar it Hubli is the Commericial city,Belgaum is also a Industrial city. There is a good amount of Passenger load from belgaum to the Five destinations it is operating. What have you to say on this.

Its a Myth. Occupancy was very low though having small aircraft like Q400 & Bombardier. on other hand We have full occupancy in BLR & BOM route with Airbus A319. Thats the reason Hubli is the point of attraction for many Airliners. Have a look on UDAN Scheme Indigo, Spice jet, Star air will start operations soon.

          • Mr PROUD HUBLIAN ,PREVIOUSLY THERE WERE FLIGHTS FROM BELGAUM -MUMBAI ,THEN CAME BELGAUM-CHENNAI FOLLOWED BY BELGAUM -HYDERABAD. IN ONE OF THE INTERVEIWS WITH SHRI MAURYA HE HAS MENTIONED THAT BELGAUM CAN EAISILY BE A INTERNATIONLA AIRPORT. EVEN THOUGH ALL THE FLIGHTS WERE WITHDRAWN UNDER THE UDAN SCHEME,THE FLIGHTS FROM BELGAUM -BANGALORE WERE RESTORED.VIEWING ALL THESE STATMENTS Mr PROUD HUBLIAN HOW DO YOU SAY THERE WAS NO LOAD FACTOR ? ITS ALL BECAUSE OF UDAN SCHEME WHAT HUBLI IS BENIFITED. FOR YOUR KIND INFORMATION BELGAUM AIRPORT CAN HANDLE AIR BUS 320,AIRBUS 321,BOEING 737-800.Mr PROUD HUBLIAN JUST THINK A THOUSAND TIMES BEFORE MAKING A STATMENT.

          • Mr. S M Naik.

            Replying to your comment.

First of all Mr. Maurya is director of Belgaum airport and not a director of DGCA. He just opined tat bgm airport could be international airport in near future but Hubli is already an International Airport. Second thing we dont need Udan scheme or any other schemes to support growth of our city. Our city has much more potential to develop by its own. Remember spicejet was serving hubli airport much before bgm. just bcoz of airport upgradation and that incident happened, spicejet temporarily shifted its base to bgm. So dont get offended. always right thing moves to right place. By the way Hubli is not so far from belgaum so dont worry.

          • Sir how is Hubli an international airport Get ur facts right before commenting. Even from IXG there were same connections to international destinations via connecting flights and same has been shifted to HBX now.
An international airport is one from where the flight originates and hence has customs, immigration services. Does HBX have these ?

  7. The STAR AIR of Godwats Allaince was supposed to start operations to & From Belgaum Airport. There is no news of the same. Does the Editor have any idea of this.
