Star Air has halted ticket bookings for three key routes from Belagavi, effective April 2025. The affected routes include Belagavi-Tirupati, Belagavi-Nagpur, and Belagavi-Bengaluru. This decision has disappointed frequent travelers, as these routes reportedly had strong passenger demand.
Star Air has a history of discontinuing flights, particularly following the conclusion of the UDAN Scheme. Previously, the airline had withdrawn operations on multiple routes, such as Belagavi-Jodhpur, Belagavi-Indore, Belagavi-Surat, and Belagavi-Nashik. With the latest cancellations, Star Air’s presence in Belagavi is further reduced, leaving only three operational routes:
- Belagavi-Mumbai (Daily)
- Belagavi-Ahmedabad (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays)
- Belagavi-Jaipur (Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays)

The airline’s decision has sparked frustration among passengers, who now face limited travel options and potential disruptions to their plans. Many have also criticized Star Air for failing to expand beyond UDAN-sanctioned routes over the last five years, limiting connectivity from Belagavi.
According to Star Air’s official website, bookings for the discontinued routes have already been suspended. However, the airline has yet to explain the cancellations, leaving passengers and travel enthusiasts eagerly awaiting clarification.
This latest move raises concerns about Star Air’s long-term commitment to Belagavi as a hub. Whether the airline will reconsider its decision or introduce alternative routes remains uncertain. Until then, travelers can only hope for better connectivity solutions soon.

Belagavi pax footfall isn’t encouraging. It’s always in negative trend. You can’t expect star air to run with loss due to Belgavi Routes. This was bound to happen. Hubballi meanwhile with lesser routes, outnumbers the pax footfall.
There’s no demand on this route otherwise why star is cancelling this route see the monthly chart of flyers from Belagavi is slow down
