State level Seminar and Exhibition of Student Project Programme

DSC_0481The inaugural function of 36th Series of state level Seminar and Exhibition of Student Project Programme was held on Friday, 30th August, 2013 at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM). The event is jointly organized by and Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) and Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) , Savagaon road, Belgaum. Over 500 engineering students of 250 colleges from various districts of the state and 45 expert faculties arrived as delegates to the college for Seminar and evaluation of the projects at the institute making it a noteworthy event.

Padmashri Dr. T.S. Prahlad, distinguished scientist and former director, Nation Aero Space Laboratories, Bangalore arrived as Chief Guest. Dr. B. R. Ananthan, Vice Chancellor,Rani Channamma University, Belgaum and Shri. Rajendra Harkuni, President, Belgaum Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Belgaum arrived as Guest of Honor. The representatives of KSCST, Prof M.S Mohan Kumar, Secretary KSCST, Dr. M Prithviraj, Executive Secretary KSCST and Prof S. G Sreekanteshwara Swamy, Fellow KSCST were also present at the function.

Padmashri, Dr T. S Prahlad distinguished scientist and former director, Nation Aero Space Laboratories, Bangalore ,in his inaugural address stressed on Student project Programme (SPP) as one of the important programmes and an opportunity to build a successful career. He spoke on the ancient achievements of the India in terms of contribution to mathematics, civilization and medicines and how India has undergone a downward trend in the development process. He said that there is an urgent need to revive the development process by framing proper policy frame work and strategy for development of the nation. He also appreciated the efforts of KSCST and Angadi Institute of Technology and Management who are contributing towards the development of the student intellect and the society.
